I own an ATV but no Windows/Mac PC (Linux rocks!). So I used your RSS feed to check on new ATV movies, but honestly, I didn't check very often (too many feeds to follow up with). I think Cinemaria could work well, if it had a feature to lists recent releases sorted by release date. Right now it is useless for me, as I usually don't search for specific movies. I just want to know what's new.

I loved Apple TV Junkie when it first came out. The Apple TV was new and your site and video blog were much appreciated. There were always interesting things to learn about using our favorite new toy.

But honestly, I pretty much stopped visiting when you changed focus and became just about listing movies to rent and seemed to be peddling some sort of movie rental software. (cine-something)

I miss the days of Apple TV Junkie hacks, experiments, news, prognostications, etc. And this may be the perfect time to consider a re-vamp- with so many rumors of a literal "Apple TV" floating around.

Maybe Apple has finally caught up with YOU! :)

I visit this website at least 3 times a week and always look forward for the updates. Although you have a good point, I would love to see this site expand when the "Apple Televsion" comes out. Thanks for all of your hard work and I hope you continue.

I like your blog.
Like me, you're obviously a fan of the ATV and have been since day one. You're right about the latest movie listings, they are probably not needed, but if you replaced them with a few discussion topics it would be a site to check in to on regular basis.
i.e.
It looks like a new version on the ATV is coming in a few weeks - what changes are hoping to see in the new model?

Also maybe a Rent or Not To Rent thread where we could all a quick one line opinion on a movie.

As a long time reader your post is sad but true. I don't pay too much attention to your movie release post but every now and then it does remind me about a movie I wanted to see. I don't open iTunes everyday but I do read my rss feeds daily...
I do enjoy the general atv news, tips & tricks, and hacks from someone who actually uses an atv regularly.

I rented and downloaded two movies on the same day. A week later I was able to connect my iPad to my HDTV and watch one movie but the other movie would not let me view it. It said there was a restricted device attached to the iPad?

DESPERATE.
i have the appleTV-2G(black) and i have used seasonpass (firecore) to jailbreak which has worked but i cannot log into it on putty.. ive tried various usernames from internet guides..
frontrow
ssh frontrow
ssh root
root
and the list goes on, plus various passwords, mainly
alpine
Alpine
frontrow

but nothing will work, putty is running on ssh and port 22 but i just cant log in to paste commands i need to use....any help?

The TV everywhere option from DISH has made watching TV away
from home easy. The apps from iTunes to watch movies are great. I like that I
can pull right off my DVR and watch a TV show that iTunes doesn’t have. This is
free from DISH right now. This gives a customer a way to enhance TV viewing. I
like that the fact I am not stuck at home. There are other great offers from
DISH Network where I work.

Yeah, iPad 2 will play any HD Movie content from the iTunes Store, as should the iPhone 4 and OG iPad.

What I don't know is does the 25 hour rule mean that you 'start' watching the movie within 24 hours or does it have to be finished by 24 hours?

I've had an Apple TV for four years now and during that time I've watched online video streaming slowly gain momentum. I think it's almost at tipping point where it will spread to the non-techy people that still rent DVDs from Love Film or Blockbuster. It's almost there but I think it'll be next year before it's the cool "new" thing to do.
The fact that all these other companies are trying to get onto the bandwagon shouldn't worry Apple too much. If someone finds movie rentals through their PS3 or Bluray player it won't be long before they start looking enviously at the Apple TV.

I still maintain that there is virtually no chance at all of this happening, at least not in the near future. Apple will never release a major project where they do not control the hardware totally. They will likely license AirPlay, or perhaps access to the iTunes store, to a third party someday -- but I don't think they'll put the Apple name and logo on a TV designed by Samsung or anyone else.
